Vicente Añó is the new director of the Physical Education and Sports Service

Vicente Añó has been designated the new director of the Physical Education and Sports Service of the Universitat de València. Añó is a professor of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences. He will replace the professor José Campos.

The Physical Education and Sports Service organises the physical and sports activities that take place in the Universitat de València. His main tasks are aimed for members of the university community. However, other citizens can join many of the activities that he organises by paying a fee.

Vicente Añó (Llombai, Valencia) is a professor of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences of the Universitat de València. He has also been the dean of the Faculty from January 2012 to March 2018. He graduated in Physical Education at the INEF (Polytechnic University) in Madrid and Psychology at the Universitat de València. He also doctored in Psychology.

He focuses his teaching activity in Sports Management and is in charge of the master degrees in Leadership and Management of Physical Activity and Sports in the Universitat de València. He is also a professor of several national and international master degrees in Sports Management. He is also a member of several scientific committees of magazines and conferences.
His research work addressed sports management. He has also been the main researcher in several studies and projects. He has written more than 30 articles in national and international magazines and 17 books (or chapters of books).

He is an expert in the organization of sports events. He has been the main responsible of the 7th World Championship of Athletics (Seville, 1999), and the 15th Mediterranean Games (Almería, 2005), among other events.

He is the current president of the Federation of Athletics of the Valencian Community (since 2015) and the Vice-president of the Royal Spanish Federation of Athletics.
