Mónica Mereciano will be awarded at the Premios Mediterráneo Excelente 2015 ceremony

The judoka Mónica Merenciano is an ex-student of the degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences and current student of the degree in Physiotherapy at the Universitat de València and also participates actively in the Divina Pastora Chair of Adapted Sport programme of the Universitat de València. She will be awarded at the Premios Mediterráneo 2015 ceremony that will take place the next 20 of November at the Hotel Balneario Resorts Las Arenas GL of Valencia.

The ceremony will be a tribute to the work of professionals and companies that stand out due to their work within the different areas of the professional, business, scientific, industrial and commercial life of the Mediterranean (Catalonia, Valencian Community, Murcia and the Balearic Islands).
The Valencian judoka will be awarded within the area of personal improvement for her capacity to coordinate her sporting life with her studies as well as for her role in the sports area. She specially stood out at the Paralympic Games of Beijing 2008, Athens 2004 and London 2012 where she was awarded with the bronze medal, the title of Spanish Champion, the bronze at the Judo World Cup or her 7th position at the World Cup of this year. Due to her compromises with the Spanish selection, José Campos, director of the Divina Pastora Chair of Adapted Sport of the Universitat de València, will pick up the award on behalf of the athlete.
