The contest, aimed at Secondary Education Students on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Periodic Table, was organised by the Faculties of Chemistry and Physics, the Natural History Museum, the Delegation for University Incorporation, the Inter-university Institute López Piñero and the Real Sociedad Española de Física y Química (RSEFQ, Royal Spanish Societies of Physics and Chemistry) to build a large periodic table and regain those of historical value.
The prize-giving ceremony for the periodic table competition will take place on 10th December at 6 p.m. in the Charles Darwin Hall of the Burjassot-Paterna Campus. 18 centres have participated and a total of 170 cubes, as well as periodic tables with historical values have been presented. The Great Periodic Table is exhibited at the Natural History Museum and the non-selected cubes at the different centres all over the UV Campus.
