El próximo 26 de septiembre a las 9:00 tendrá lugar la conferencia “Cultural differences in Psychometric applications: The use of tests in international surveys”, impartida por el Dr. Yusuf Ransome, de la Universidad de Yale, EEUU, en el Salón de Actos.
Resumen: The seminar will briefly introduce the use of tests in national surveys. The aim is for students to see the importance of proper test development and implementation, emphasizing the need for adequate psychometric properties. In addition, emphasis will be placed on the need for adaptation when used with subpopulations, as well as on the insights and evidence for the advancement of psychology as a science and the quality of life of the population, provided that they are used correctly. Given the academic and social implications of the topic, the audience may include undergraduate students, but also postgraduate students and professors interested in the exploitation of national survey data.
Bio: PhD, Dr, Social Health Expert: Delivering holistic well-being value through social connectedness and personal development strategies. Professor at Yale University, School of Public Health. Formerly at Harvard University, USA. Main research topic social connectedness. As keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, mentor, prosperity ambassador, and entrepreneur he collaborates with ARMAQoL UV research team.
