The Erasmus+ Programme fosters development of the UV academic staff giving the chance to visit with teaching purposes a Non-European high education institution. This teaching mobility action promotes networking and benchmaking on pedagogical methods and encourages universities to offer a wider range of courses.

The activity also offers the chance to learn from experiences and good practices of other universities abroad through the financing of these periods, improving aptitudes for carrying out duties at the workplace more efficiently.

Hence, these academic stays:

  • support learners in the acquisition of learning outcomes with a view to improving their personal development and their employability in the European labour market and beyond;
  • support professional development of those who work in the field of education with a view to innovating and improving the quality of teaching and training;
  • improve, in particular, participants’ foreign language competencies and raise participants’ awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries.

The duration of the mobility periods is from 5 days to 2 months, excluding travel time. A minimum of 8 hours of teaching per week has to be respected. For a mobility period exceeding a full week, the minimum number of teaching hours must be increased proportionally. Note that a maximum of 5 days  can be funded by Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Programme. Additionally, one day for travel before the first day of the activity abroad (and/or) one day for travel following the last day of the activity abroad shall be added to the duration of the mobility period and included in the calculation for individual support if applicable.

The venue where the mobility activity is carried out must be at a university in any programme country or partner country different from the country of the sending organisation and the staff member’s country of residence.
