Pedro R. Gil-Monte, Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Valencia, has received the recognition of the Universidade Federal da Paraíba (Centro de Ciências da Saúde, João Pessoa, Brazil) for his rellevant contribution to international scientific production and for the development of an instrument for the evaluation of the burnout syndrome).

Professor Gil-Monte is the author of the Spanish Burnout Inventory (SBI). This instrument facilitates the diagnosis of this health problem recently recognised by the World Health Organisation, in its new classification of diseases (CIE11), as a health problem associated with employment or unemployment (QD85), resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. The CESQT has been adapted to different languages, including Portuguese, and its use is widely spread in Brazil, a country in which this health problem is recognised as a work-related illness.

Professor Gil-Monte received the distinction from the rector of the Federal University of Paraíba, Margareth de Fátima Formiga Melo Diniz, during his participation as guest speaker at the inaugural session of the “I International Seminar on Burnout Syndrome”, celebrated in the city of João Pessoa (Brazil) on May 16 and 17, 2019.
