The Service for Formation and Innovation (SFPIE) of the Universitat de València offers the university community and the general public an online course via the international platform MiríadaX. Those who do the course will have the opportunity to have access for free to the content of the course and to do its assessment exam.

The course will start on 11^th February 2019 and will last for 8 weeks. Any person who is interested in the topic, which is so popular and important nowadays, can register to the course. The importance of the addressed topic is proved by recent discoveries not only in basic research (with notable advances such as the discovery of the human genome), but also its practical application in fields such as biomedicine, agriculture or industry. It is a discipline whose importance is definitely increasing more and more. The course aims to get specialist knowledge on this theme to any person who is interested.

The organisation of the course has been coordinated by Sergi Maicas Prieto, professor of the Department of Microbiology and Ecology of the Faculty of Biology, as part of the open call of MOOC courses of the SFPIE. The videos of the courses were recorded by technical staff of the Innovation Unit of SFPIE inside their facilities.

You can find the course in the platform MiríadaX, the largest MOOC platform in Hispano-American countries. It has been possible thanks to an agreement between the Universitat de València and platform so that the MOOCs produced by our university are accessible to more people. Those students who finish the course successfully will obtain a certificate
