The University of Valencia in coordination with the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Society and the Office of the Vice-Principal for International Relations and Cooperation, continues the Erasmus Programme in the Territory. This 6th edition will include formative itineraries thus enabling to present some Valencian municipalities that are referents for its culture and heritage. These itineraries are addressed to Erasmus students in the University of Valencia during the academic year 2018/2019. These pathways, designed with the participation of the corresponding local councils, are defined by their formative desire and its aim to make Erasmus students aware of the heritage, culture and scenic values of the Valencian geography.

Bocairent: Mountain town in la Vall d’Albaida, settled on a hill at the feet of the Natural Park of la Sierra Mariola, whose street layout preserves the Arabic essence. Bocairent, which has around 4,500 inhabitants, has traditionally based its economic activity on the textile industry and a part-time agriculture (cereals, olive and fruit trees, and vineyard). Bocairent is known by its Medieval Quarter above the river and the “Covetes dels Moros”, declared National Monument. Other features of this town are its bullring, partially excavated into the rock and the “Cava de San Blai”, a snow well excavated into the rock and singular for being located within the town.
