On Thursday, October 17 at 18:30, the book “Sermonario de Aviñón” by Francisco Gimeno Blay and Mª Luz Mandingorra Llavata is presented in the Cultural Centre La Nau.

Antonio Ariño, Vice-Rector for Culture and Sports; Alfonso Esponera Cerdán, Professor at the Faculty of Theology Sant Vicent Ferrer in Valencia; Albert G. Hauf, member of the AVL and retired Professor at the Universitat de València and Francisco Gimeno Blay, co-author of the book, will take part in the event.

The volume “Sermonario de Aviñón” includes, among other sermons, those of the preaching carried out in Mallorca by the Dominican master Vicent Ferrer between the month of September 1413 and the beginning of January of the year 1414. It is known, thanks to the exlibris which can be read in the pages of the manuscript, which was written by the Dominican Antoni Anglada, a friar who was part of the "company" and who traveled together with the Master Vicent during some of his pastoral campaigns.  At his death, this manuscript remained in the Avignon Dominican convent to finally join the municipal library of the papal city, where it has been preserved until today.  The edition of this very interesting set of homilies allows discovering unpublished aspects about the way of being of the Valencian Dominican. Although it is known from a very early age, the manuscript has remained unpublished until today, when the text is published in its entirety.
