The Jornades de Recerca en Didàctica de la llengua oral: renovació metodològica i innovació (Spoken language Teaching Research: methodological renovation and innovation), organised by Grup GIEL (Grup d’Investigació en Ensenyament de Llengües), from the Universitat de València, aspire to reflect about the way spoken language is taught in the academic sphere, with the purpose of reviewing the achievements made until now and the new challenges it poses. It also aims to face in the most effective way possible the process of teaching and learning of spoken formal language. The speakers of the conference are university lecturers and researches with a long and consolidated academic career who represent some of the most well-known figures of the research scene, not only in Valencia but also in many other places.

During the conference, there will be several activities of variable duration (talks, round table with brief speeches and a final dialogue) that will be carried out during the two days that lasts. The conferences have been recognised as specific activitiess inside the Programa de Doctorat de Didàctiques Específiques. In the end of every activity, there will be a dialogue between the attendees (teachers, lecturers from the Faculty of Education and other faculties, doctoral students, students from the degrees of Preschool Education and Primary School Education, students from the Master's degree in Research in Specific Didactics, as well as the Master's degree in Secondary Education Teacher, etc.).
