The deadline for submitting project proposals is 22nd May 2025 at 17.00 h.

The EU-LAC Interest Group, focused on the Common Research Area between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean, has announced the launch of the 5th EU-LAC Joint Call. The State Research Agency (AEI) is one of the institutions that will provide financing to Spanish research organisations.

The objective of this call is to promote multilateral and sustainable cooperation in R&D&I between EU countries and those of Latin America and the Caribbean by financing transnational research and innovation projects. With a duration of between 24 and 36 months, the AEI will finance selected projects that address one of the following thematic areas: biodiversity, bioeconomy and energy transition.

This initiative will allow Spanish research institutions, universities and companies to collaborate with their counterparts in Latin America and the Caribbean on innovative projects that address global challenges and strengthen sustainable development in both regions.

The call will formally open on February 24, 2025 and interested parties will be able to submit their proposals until May 22, 2025 at 17:00 CEST.
