Last Saturday night, 28th September, Magdalena López Precioso passed away, who was, at the Universitat de València, Professor at the Department of Social Work and Social Services, Director of the Department of Social Work and Social Services, Secretary of the Faculty of Social Sciences, member of the Centre Board, the University Senate and the Governing Council. Magdalena López Precioso had an outstanding trajectory in the field of gender equality, for the development of studies and the profession of Social Work and for her participation as a backbone of social transformation. Committed to feminist and trade union activism, she took part in the drafting of the first Equality Plan of the Universitat de València and played a fundamental role in the development of university volunteering, through the creation of courses of the SeDi Information and Promotion Service. In terms of research, linked to the intervention, Professor López Precioso developed an investigation line on Sex Work, from the perspective of equality and the recognition of rights, with various articles, awards and organisation of congresses and conferences. The last farewell took place privately, at the family’s request.
