Rules for foreign students at the University of Valencia

FIRST ADDITIONAL PROVISION
Students with foreign studies which have not been validated shall be governed by the first additional provision of the Royal Decree 778/1998 and must submit before the 15th June of the year prior to their access to postgraduate studies the following documentation:
Instance, following the official model, addressed to the Principal of the University.
Licenciatura or any equivalent degree.
University certificate which states the subjects studied and the grades obtained.
All this documentation, originals or certified copies, must be legalised through diplomatic channels and must be presented with the corresponding translation by a sworn translator. It will be presented to the Negociado de Tercer Ciclo de la Universidad (Department of Third Cycle of the University).
The documents sealed with the "Apostille convention" (Hague Convention of 5 October 1961) do not require legalization by diplomatic channels.
Once the Doctoral Committee approves or denies access to the relevant studies, the interested person shall apply for admission in doctoral programme of their choice during the first half of July. The application for admission to the department will have to be submitted to the merit assessment criteria established for all students.
Students from non-Spanish speaking countries must justify with written evidence, through a certificate issued by an official body, the knowledge of one of the two official languages of the Valencian Community. The level accredited will have to be at least equivalent to the basic level of the DELE (Diploma of Spanish as a foreign language).
