The Universitat de València participates in the World Action Week for Education

The Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences and the Faculty of Teacher Training will organise on Wednesday 25 a series of activities in on the occasion of the World Action Week for Education (SAME). Among the activities, a protest, in which the NGO coordinator of the Valencian Community will participate, stands out. The main objective is to identify education as a key aspect to fight violence and intolerance.

The protest will start at the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences at 11.30 a.m. heading towards Plaza de la Virgen. University, secondary and primary school students will gather at 12 a.m. in this square to defend a culture of peace.

Experts in human rights and representatives of the academic world will insist on the importance of fighting intolerance in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty from 10 to 11.30 a.m. The sessions are Thinking of frontiers: human rights, ethics and migration by Francisco Arenas Dolz and Peace: objective and path for education, by Javier García. The Global Campaign for Education will be presented at 10.45 a.m. by the NGO coordinator of the Valencian Community. Some projects of the teaching body participating in the contest Give us your support for education will be presented.

World Action Week for Education is a vindication organised by the Global Campaign for Education (GCE). It has the motto Education is the path to peace. ¡Give us your support! The objective of the events is that politicians secure the right to an inclusive, fair and quality education worldwide. More than 120 countries participate in the events from 23 April to 27 April.
