The Universitat de València, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Society and the Office of the Vice-Principal for Internationalisation and Cooperation, continues with the Erasmus in the Territory Programme. In this 7th Edition some training itineraries have been organised that will allow to show some Valencian municipalities which are benchmarks of their culture and heritage.

Requena, history of wine, 22nd February 2020

Requena exhibits a rich history, resulting of its strategic location, dominating since ancient times the natural route that linked Valencia with the Castilian plateau.

Its old centre reflects the splendour of those times when, oddly enough, the municipality did not depend on wine production. At that time, its economy was centred on the production of silk, as recalled by the Colegio de Arte Mayor de la Seda (College of Higher Silk Art).

A curiosity that Requena offers is the tour of the underground of the medieval city, with an itinerary by the old caves in which wines, oils and cereals were stored.
