Academic, scientific or professional interest: Historically, Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CCAFD) have based its training activity on the preparation of professionals that could work with the tools generated by other related areas of knowledge (as for example, medicine, psychology, pedagogy). This situation allowed us to advance in our field, training professionals who used tools built and thought for other applied areas. However, since the last third of the XX century the CCAFD has begun to generate its own knowledge that is not only used by our graduates, but also provides solutions to other professional fields. This is due to the great applicability of scientific knowledge of our field in the daily life of people, either to improve their quality of life, prevent and treat diseases, improve education, regulate and control entertainment and sport performance or to ameliorate the management of physical activity and sport.
