Alumni UV organises, within the activities of the free programme Alumni Comparteix, the conference ‘Matilde Salvador. Language, woman and people’, given by the Alumni Jesús Huguet, who will make a journey through the life and musical work of the Valencian composer.

Matilde Salvador and her husband Vicente Asencio were one of the most important artistic couples in Spain, with more than twenty distinctions, including the Distinction for Cultural Merit awarded in 1997 by the Valencian Government, the Medal of the Universitat de València awarded in 2001, as well as the Cross of Saint George awarded to them in 2005 by the Catalan Government. On 5 October 2007, Matilde Salvador died at her home in València.

Jesús Huguet is Alumni since the beginning of the creation of the collective in 1997. He was born in Onda and currently lives in Alberic. He has been professor and coordinator of the I.C.E. (Institute of Education Sciences) of the Universitat de València on ‘Lingüística Valenciana i la seua didàctica’. He has been a guest lecturer at universities such as the of Saint Petersburg State University, the Autonomous University of Zacatecas, the University of Naples “L'Orientale” and the University of San José in Costa Rica.

He has also held political office, published as an author and editor, and is a member of national and international literary associations.
