The Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences celebrates next Wednesday, March 9th, the Employment and Entrepreneurship Forum of the Universitat de València, joining the initiative of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Employment and Training Programmes, through UVjob, which aims, with the collaboration of university centres and the active participation of companies and organizations, to improve the students’ employability.

For the first time, this Faculty will host the Forum and will do it throughout the day in the morning and afternoon. Registration for the meeting is now open and can be done through its virtual space.

Around twenty companies and organisations stands will be located on the Faculty's premises from 12 to 4 p.m. to welcome applicants, who will be able to establish direct interaction and find out about the job opportunities offered, as well as making university talent available to them.

Public administrations, professional associations, NGOs, trade unions in the educational sector, companies, and public and private organisations will open their doors to students and graduates actively seeking employment.

For this reason, UVjob recommends visitors to review their CV, prepare a brief presentation of themselves and seek information about the companies, especially those that may be of professional interest to them.

Academic programme

The Forum will host an extensive programme of academic and practical activities focused on the employability of graduate and postgraduate students at the Faculty, which will seek to advise, recommend and facilitate the path towards professional opportunities in the studies of Philosophy and Educational Sciences.

Thus, after the presentation of the Forum, at 9 a.m. in the Aula Magna, the inaugural conference will be given by the director of the Trilema Foundation and the journal 'Quaderns de Pedagogia', Carmen Pellicer.

At 10:30 am, the same room will host the round table “A look at the employability of the Faculty's degrees”, which will be presented by the Vice-Dean for Internships, Mobility and Equality, Inmaculada Chiva, and will feature speeches by Rubén Jiménez, from RubenGuo (who will be connected online); Juan Carlos Gallart, Secretary for Employment and Institutional Policy of CCOO PV; Reyes Segura Ramón, Regional Director of Kumon in the Valencia Community; and Manuel Abellán, from Industry Executive Higher Education Spain (also online).

In the afternoon, between 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., three simultaneous round tables will be held in different areas of the centre, which will focus on the employability and professional opportunities of the degrees taught at the Faculty: Philosophy, Social Education and Pedagogy.

The three will be moderated by different heads of academic management at the centre, with the participation of specialists in each subject. Thus, in Philosophy, there will be interventions by secondary school teachers and directors of foundations, professional colleges and institutes of advanced studies; in Social Education, by educators and social educators from city councils, shelters and other public bodies; and in Pedagogy, by guidance counsellors, pedagogues, cultural mediators and consultants.

This meeting with the labour market is organised in collaboration with the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences, and its main objective is to promote the employability of future graduates of the centre.

UVjob, meanwhile, is the service of the Universitat de València for students and graduates of the UV employability, as well as mediator for new professional opportunities. Its team offers guidance and counselling services, training in job search techniques and comprehensive training, and also provides the university community with a job portal that gives access to multiple job offers in a directory with more than 1,500 registered organisations.
