I am a Full Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Valencia, Spain, where I am the Head of the Research Group ‘VIO-STRATEGY: Advanced research strategies on family and gender violence’. Currently, my research is focused on intimate partner violence against women, and other types of violence in intimate relationships (e.g., child maltreatment) with particular emphasis on public perceptions and attitudes, and the analysis of the influence of social environment-related variables (e.g., neighborhoods characteristics) in the prevalence and the unequal distribution of the risk of these types of violence. I have also been involved in the development of new intervention strategies for batterer intervention programs, and the evaluation of success indicators of intervention programs for partner violence offenders. I have been Principal Investigator or co-investigator on about 30 research grants from Spanish Government agencies, and other national and international funding bodies. I am the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Psychosocial Intervention. I have been featured as one of the World's Top 2% Scientists (both author career and last year) in the Stanford University Study.
