Vicente Blasco Ibáñez wrote his novel “Los cuatro jinetes del apocalipsis” (The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse) between autumn 1915 and spring 1916, as the ally troops defend the Marne front from the attacks of the German Empire in the middle of World War I. While Blasco Ibáñez can be listened talking in his study in Paris, he writes articles in support of the allies. We get to know his mood, the rows with his editor, how he suffers for his ideas and the visit of the President of the French Republic, which grants him access to the front of Marne and Reims, and how all this ultimately affects his writing.
