Synopsis:
Las cajas españolas is a documentary that chronicles the process carried out by the republican government, through the creation of the Republican Artistic Treasure Board, to preserve works from the Prado Museum in Madrid during the siege in the Spanish Civil War. The film, which reconstructs the peculiar course of these works of art on a total of 1,868 cases, was awarded the Espiga de Plata (Silver Spike) for Best Documentary at the 49th International Film Festival of Valladolid.
