Isabel-Gemma Fajardo GarcíaIsabel-Gemma Fajardo García is Professor of Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Valencia and director of her Doctoral Programme “Commercial Law and Business”. She is graduated in Law by the University of Valencia and she got her doctoral studies in 1992 with the thesis: “La gestión económica de la cooperativa. Responsabilidad de los socios” (The economic management of the cooperative. Liability of partners) She continued her studies at the Universities of Genoa and Coimbra. She is in charge of the legal department of Ciriec-Spain (International Centre for Research and Information on the Public, Social and Cooperative Economy) and co-director of CIRIEC- Revista Jurídica de la Economía Social (Legal Journal on Social Economics)(from 1990). She is member of IUDESCOOP (University Institute on Social and Cooperative Economics) and representative of the University of Valencia in the Euro-Latin American Network RULESCOOP. She has developed her research activity around to Commercial Law, company law rules, contract and insolvency law, and more especially on legal and economic regime of cooperatives, labour companies, credit section, company mergers, corporate groups and European entrepreneurial societies; comparative law and European harmonization of legislation on capital and cooperative companies; companies of social and labour insertion and cooperative principles. She participated in the development of cooperative laws in Valencian Community and the Community of Madrid, in the White Paper of Social Economy in the Valencian Community, in the Report on the Social Economy law and around the reform of the Law on Labour Societies. She has published numerous books, articles, and lectures and she has taught several postgraduate and doctoral courses, both in Spain, Europe and Latin America.

Carmen Pastor Sempere

Tenured university professor of Commercial Law. University of Alacant. Designated mediator by the Valencian Council for Cooperativism (Valencian Department for Economy, Finance and Employment) to deliver Awards in the cooperative arbitrages in which this organ participates. She has an extensive experience in this field and has advised and performed various legal reports for the Valencian Council for Cooperativism. She was part of the specialists Group for the study and reform of the Valencian Cooperative Societies Law, in 2009.
She has been lecturer in numerous Conferences and specialisation courses both in Spain and abroad. Permanent researcher and member of the School of Cooperative Studies at the Complutense University of Madrid, since 1995. Permanent collaborator of the Journals on Company Law of Aranzadi publisher and on Insolvency Law of La Ley publisher. (RdS) Estudios Cooperativos (REVESCO) published by Escuela de Estudios Cooperativos de la Universitat Complutense de Madrid. External evaluator of the journal CIRIEC and REVESCO.

 Maria José Vañó is professor of Commercial Law at the University of Valencia and has published, among many other works, the book Fusión heterogénea y cesión global en el sector bancario (Heterogeneous merging and global transfer in the banking sector) in the Biblioteca Jurídica-Cuatrecasas-Tirant lo Blanch, Valencia 2001. She is currently developing several lines of research and advice: on the one hand, the impact the Internet has on the government of societies by analysing the advantages that the new XML language provides to legal field; thereby it develops consultancy work in the field of XBRL Spain. On the other hand, the civil liability of auditors in the performance of their professional activity facing society and third parties who invested in a particular society relying on their report and whose heritage was severely injured. Finally, the implementation of the Organic Law of Protection of Personal Data in the bosom of the Spanish companies.
In addition to the provision of advice on matters relating to Data Protection and Information and Communication Technologies in the field of Small and Medium-sized enterprises, she is consultant in Symmetria Consultoria y Sistemas, development of business integration projects through joint ventures and national and international mergers.

 

CARLOS VARGAS VASSEROT
Carlos Vargas VasserotTenured Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Almería and in charge of the Knowledge Area. Head of the Office of Research Results Transfer (OTRI) of the University of Almería. Member of the School of Cooperative Studies and of the International Association of Cooperative Law. Twice awarded with Arco Iris Prize for the best research on cooperatives: in 2003 for the book “La actividad cooperativizada y las relaciones de la cooperativa con sus socios y terceros” (The cooperative business and the cooperative relationships with its members and third parties) (Aranzadi); and in 2009 for the book “Régimen jurídico de la Sociedad Cooperativa del Siglo XXI” (Legal system of the Cooperative Society of the 21th Century)(Dykinson). Doctorate Special Award by the University of Almería (2004), Joaquín Garrigues Award for the best doctoral thesis in Spain on Insurance Law (2000) and Excellence Award for his teaching career at the University of Almería (2010). Author of numerous scientific articles, lectures and opinions on different legal aspects of Social Economy companies.

 

ENRIQUE GADEA SOLER

Enrique Gadea SolerTenured Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Deusto. Specialist in Corporate Law and, in particular, in the figure of the Cooperative Society. Since 2000, he is Technical Secretary of the International Association of Cooperative Law and Coordinator of the International Group of this association, which develops an annual research project funded by the Basque Government. He is also Professor of the Institute for Cooperative Studies at the University of Deusto and Researcher of the School of Cooperative Studies at the Complutense University of Madrid.

He has been member of committees involved in the preparation of Proposals of Draft Laws on Cooperatives and Advisor in the Foundation for the Promotion of Social Economy of Asturias in the process of developing the Draft Law on Cooperatives of this Autonomous Community during 2005 and 2006. Pilar Alguacil MaríPilar Alguacil is Full University Professor of Financial and Tax Law at the University of Valencia. She has published for ten years the book Fiscalidad de la Empresa: Esquemas, Ejemplos y casos prácticos (Company Taxation: schemes, examples and case studies), teaching on the subject in the Master’s degree in Companies Legal Advice, of ADEIT. She runs the online course “Practical Diploma of corporate taxation”, which is organised annually. She is also a teacher of the Course “Creation of Companies” of the School of Industrial Organisation, where she manages the online module “Fiscal and commercial environment”. She is an expert in special tax systems of Entities on Social Economy: so, on cooperatives, where she has published numerous articles and has produced several reports for national Organizations, leading the work on Reform of Cooperative Tax System of CEPES. On labour companies, she has published a book and she has also collaborated in the Project of law reform on labour societies developed by CONFESAL. Additionally, she has several publications on tax system of non-profit Entities and has lectured on this subject in the Master’s Degree in Business Management on Social Economics. Moreover, she is an expert in European Law and especially in matters of State aids, where she has publications related to the incidence of this in the tax system of the Entities of Social Economy and in the funding of social services provided by such entities.

Mª José Arnau Cosín

 Mª José Arnau is a practising lawyer in the area of labour law both of extrajudicial and judicial proceedings, since the implementation of the penalty system by the company to any cause for contract termination, contesting of ITAS infraction reports, as well as any other resolution that may entail going to the contentious-administrative jurisdiction and in other cases to the labour courts. Beyond this, any matter circumscribed to labour law: unemployment benefit, claim for payment, recognition of rights, functional mobility, substantial changes, going to TAL, among others. She is also an expert in commercial law in the field of associated work cooperatives: expulsions, contesting of social agreements, applications for unemployment benefit in its single-payment mode, contesting of administrative resolutions of working members, management and processing for the establishment of cooperatives, drafting or adaptation of social statutes, among others.
Also, MªJosé, as a graduate in Law and practicing lawyer, extended her studies doing a Master’s degree in Business Legal Advice, 6th Edition in ADEIT (University Business Foundation), and in addition, she is a doctoral student in the area of commercial law of the University of Valencia and she is currently preparing her research project in the specialization of cooperatives.
