Waldo Orellana joined the University in December 1987 as a full-time Interim Associate Professor of the University School in the Department of Business Organization and Marketing at the School of Business Studies.

In 2000 he joined the "Juan José Renau Piqueras" Department of Business Management of the Faculty of Economics.

In 2003, he joined IUDESCOOP as a researcher.

Regarding his teaching activity, he gave classes in diplomas, degrees, degrees and postgraduate degrees. He directed Master's Thesis and PhD Thesis. He was part of the faculty of the Official Master in Social Economy and the IUDESCOOP Doctoral Program. He also coordinated the external practices of said Master.

In 2017 he retired as a University Holder after having reached the maximum age of permanence in the university

On July 30, he was appointed by the rector as an honorary professor at the University of Valencia from the 2020-21 academic year and indefinitely
