Maite Roca, computational biochemistry from the Jaume I University; Javier Buceta, researcher at the Institute of Integrative Systems Biology (I2SysBio) and the CSIC; and Ismael Mingarro, researcher at the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (BIOTECMED) of the University of Valencia (UV) will participate in The Biophyzza Connection: Biophysics for everyone, on Thursday, March 23 at 5:30 p.m. The event, in the Charles Darwin Room of the UV’s Burjassot Campus, is coordinated by the Spanish Biophysics Society and aims to show the present and the future of Biophysics.

This event is organised as part of the Biophysics Week, which is promoted internationally by the Biophysical Society and is supported by the Spanish Biophysics Society. This area of knowledge analyses biological problems through physical laws and mathematical models, with quantitative logic.

The event, organised by Professor Mingarro, will feature presentations by Maite Roca and Javier Buceta (“Biophysics as a personal experience”); and then there will be a debate on the present and the future of Biophysics, with the students in which the speakers and the organiser will participate. The event will end with a pizza tasting in the Bar of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the UV.

The Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit, the Faculty of Biological Sciences, the Faculty of Chemistry, the Faculty of Physics, the BIOTECMED institute, the I2SysBio, the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECyT), the Ministry of Science and Innovation and Domino’s Pizza collaborate in the event.

Registration for the event is free and must be done at this link: https://ir.uv.es/se2Si0j. Another form of registration: cdciencia@uv.es.
