IRTIC will participate on Saturday, the 9th of May, in Expociència 2026, the open day at the Science Park of the University of Valencia, which will offer around a hundred activities for all ages, allowing to explore science from a fun and interactive perspective. The research institute will host the activity “Climate Change Detectives: Save Heritage with Augmented Reality” at its facilities and a “Flight Simulator” on the ground floor of the School of Engineering (ETSE-UV).

Participants in “Climate Change Detectives,” equipped with augmented reality glasses, will be able to see how climate change affects pieces of Valencia’s cultural heritage as if they were right in front of them, and propose solutions to preserve them. This activity stems from the work carried out during the ChemiNova project.

In regards to the “Flight Simulator,” participants will test their skills at piloting a virtual airplane and landing on an aircraft carrier. During this activity, they will see firsthand the results of a project created by students in the Video game development course of the degree in Multimedia Engineering.

The Expociencia activities, held this year under the theme “Caring with Science,” will be free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Science Park and the ETSE-UV. Find all the events on the map!
