The SILKNOW project, coordinated by the Department of History of Art and the IRTIC of the University of Valencia, and developed by entities from Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Slovenia and Poland, has received the European Heritage Award, also known as the Europa Nostra Award, in the Research category. It is also eligible for the Public Choice Award and anyone interested can vote for it by clicking on a link until September 11.

In order to vote for the SILKNOW project, please go to https://vote.europanostra.org/. Then, three projects must be chosen: the first project, which can be SILKNOW, will receive 3 points, while the second will receive 2 points and the third will receive 1 point.

Next, it will be received an email that will allow confirming the vote. This is the only way to add it to the points received by the initiative, so it is an essential step. If it does not appear in the inbox of the email client, it is a good idea to check the spam folder just in case.

Once a vote has been confirmed, it cannot be changed, and can only be cast once. The e-mail address, which is never made public, functions as a personal identifier, so that it is not possible to vote for a third person using a previously used email address.

It is also possible to vote for the same country more than once only in case the initiative includes entities from several territories, as well as to leave comments on the favourite projects that could appear on the Europa Nostra website. The Public Choice Award is worth €10,000.

SILKNOW is a Horizon 2020 project that, from 2018 to 2021, produced digital tools beyond current technologies to improve our understanding and conservation of European silk heritage. The project applied next-generation information and communications technologies (ICT) research to meet the needs of users in various fields, such as museums, education, tourism, cultural and creative industries.

Universitat de València, GARIN 1820 S.A. and the Instituto Cervantes, from Spain; Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique - Lyon 2 and EURECOM, from France; Universita Degli Studi di Palermo, from Italy; Institut Jozef Stefan, from Slovenia; Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universitaet Hannover, from Germany and Monkeyfab, from Poland, have participated in the initiative.

The award ceremony and announcement of the winning initiative of the Public Choice Award will take place on September 26 at the Prague State Opera. This celebration is part of the European Heritage Awards, which are part of the European Cultural Heritage Summit 2022, taking place from 25 to 27 of the same month.

The deadline to vote for SILKNOW and the other projects in the Public Choice Award is September 11, take part!
