Dr. Pedro Valero, director of the research group SINTEC, belonging to INTRAS, has been interviewed for the article "Health and cycling (II): helmets are useful but have to comply with regulations", published by Maldita.es on July 21st, 2020

According to Valero, "there are countries in which, without the need to pass laws, people wear helmets, probably because awareness of the importance of safety is very high, but in others the presence of specific obligations seems to help encourage their use"

The city is full of items that could do a lot of damage in the event of a fall and bicycle helmets are designed for impacts where no other vehicle is involved, i.e. when the cyclist mainly hits the ground and, on the first impact, has to retire and buy another one.
