On August 1, 2017, the National Institute of Transit and Land Transport (INTRANT) of the Dominican Republic signed a collaboration agreement with INTRAS of the University of Valencia to carry out training, research, advisory activities and any other area of mutual interest for the implementation of the plans derived from Act 63-17 on Mobility, Land Transport, Traffic and Road Safety of the Dominican Republic.
The person responsible for the project will be Dr. Francisco Alonso, Director of INTRAS, who has maintained a scientific collaboration and several meetings with the Ministry of Public Works and Communications as well as with the other institutions that formed the Presidential Commission for Road Safety of the Dominican Republic.
The collaboration of Professor Alonso began last January with the drafting of the National Strategic Plan for Road Safety of the Dominican Republic 2017-2020 and in the revision of the then Draft Act on Mobility, Land Transport, Traffic and Road Safety of the Dominican Republic.
