Place: Online

Description:

The “Cistella Responsable” is an initiative of the CEDAT Foundation, with the support, at the UV, of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Sustainability, Cooperation and Healthy Life. Its main objectives are: to promote a model of responsible consumption in order to improve the access to local and seasonal organic products, and to integrate people with disabilities into the labour market, thus building a more solidary and committed society.

Specifically, the initiative allows the university community to order and receive baskets of organic products in university offices and pick-up points, delivered by people from the CEDAT Special Employment Centre.

The way the initiative works is quite simple. First, customers have to register on the Cistella website, https://ir.uv.es/mz4RkGL. Then, the order is placed (there are different types of boxes), indicating the place of delivery. The delivery is received the following Wednesday, and payment is made through the platform by credit card.

The order is prepared by the association “Ecollaures”, which is the driving force behind the participatory guarantee system that ensures compliance with the parameters of IFOAM Organics International.

The bags used to transport the products inside the baskets have been made by women at risk of exclusion from scraps of fabric from textile factories, thanks to the “Mil-una” project of the ISOC Vocational Training Centre in Sagunto. The farmers take the orders to the CEDAT Foundation, which is in charge of the last mile, making the deliveries in recycled and ergonomically designed trolleys.

The staff with functional diversity of the Special Employment Centre is in charge, among other tasks, of carrying out these deliveries to the campus. The products are served in boxes, and inside the boxes are the cloth bags that the customers take with the products and for which they must pay a deposit of 5 euros.

This initiative aims to bring healthy and sustainable food to the Tarongers Campus, complementing the initiative of the Markets of the Burjassot and Blasco Ibáñez Campus.

We encourage you to place an order and enjoy the benefits of healthy and sustainable food while supporting an inclusive social initiative
