Description:

The Universitat de València, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Society and the Riba-roja del Túria Town Hall, organise this seminar about the eel to highlight the importance of the connexion of Turia river in the see and its relation with the eel’s cycle of life, an emblematic species of our area and that has decreased its presence lately.

In recent years, the Conselleria responsible of Natural Environment, in collaboration with some city halls, has been releasing elvers in diverse parts of the Turia Natural Park. However, these elvers did not complete their life cycle because the river does not reach the sea. The new Plan de Ordenación de Recursos Naturales (PORN) of the Natural Park, which expands this protection from the riverbed to the mouth of the river, will allow this endangered species might come back again to the Turia’s water to stay.

Organized by:

Conselleria de Agricultura y Medio Ambiente (GVA)

Vicerrectorado de Proyección Territorial y Sociedad (UV)

Ayuntamiento de Riba-roja de Túria
