On a day like any other, and without prior warning, a woman with an apparent normal life gets on a train and flees. She attempts to get away as far as possible, hurting from the cutthroat bite of flesh, love and abandonment. With these premises we see how unfolds a very intimate, raw and beautiful novel about the abysm between the life we lived and the life we desired. Resting on the weight of an inherited culture and invisible insects that eat away the illusory marble of the family, the work and the canonical couple. “És naufragi” is a story of the women who don’t resign themselves to yearn for what it never was. And who carry over their shoulders the weight of their courage through time.

Magda Simó i Beltran (la Jana, 1981) is a journalist specialised in corporate and institutional communication, focusing in the cultural sphere. She also is co-author of the digital A cau de Lletra, produces the literary section of the morning radio programme of À Punt and often writes the column “La mala lletra” at the Lletraferit magazine. ‘És naufragi’ is her first published novel and put a stop to it between mud bucket and mud bucket with the DANA of 2024. She won with it the 7th Lletraferit Novel Award.
