Anabel Forte Deltell (Yecla, 1982), PhD in Statistics from the University of Valencia (UV), participates weekly in Raíz de 5, the science dissemination program of Radio 5, RNE, which on August 31 premiered its fifth season. The professor, who publishes under the name BayesAna, studies the Bayesian quantification of uncertainty in the selection of models and Bayesian hierarchical models for correlated data.

The researcher of the Statistics and Operations Research Department Anabel Forte has started her regular collaboration in the weekly Mathematics program Raíz de 5, on Radio 5. The program, directed and presented by Santi García Cremades, mathematician, disseminator and professor from the Miguel Hernández University, deals with a different topic each week to understand “from the specific to the abstract”.

“My arrival at Raíz de 5 has meant the introduction in the program of a section on statistics at a time when it is very necessary to understand this part of mathematics that is dedicated to the study of data, which nowadays we can find wherever we look”, said the expert in statistics.

In addition to her research activity, Anabel Forte is dedicated to dissemination and collaborates in several science and technology dissemination projects such as StatWars: The Data Empire for the dissemination of Statistics and Science Data, and Girls4STEM, a project that aims to promote vocations in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) areas mainly among girls.

Anabel Forte, during her predoctoral period, visited the Statistical and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute (USA) and the Statistical Lab at Cambridge University. After a period at the Jaume I University, she continues as a Tenure-track 2 Professor at the UV. She is also a member of scientific organisations such as the International Society for Bayesian Analysis, the International Biometric Society and the Spanish Society for Statistics and Operations Research (SEIO).
