The UV celebrates the first Bestowal Ceremony of the new doctors of the 2023-2024 academic year
78 graduates received the symbols and the accrediting diploma that distinguishes them with the doctor degree. They were part of the Faculties of Medicine and Odontology; Law; Chemistry; Physics, Mathematics; Philosophy and Educational Sciences; and Economics.

The Universitat de València celebrated in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Medicine and Odontology the first of the two Bestowal Ceremonies of the new doctors of the 2023-2024 academic year. On this first act, celebrated in Friday, 11 June, a total of 78 doctors from the faculties of Medicine and Dentistry; Law; Chemistry; Physics; Mathematics; Philosophy and Educational Sciences; and Economics. Next Friday 18 will take place the next act, in which the rest of doctors of other centres will be invested. In total, 200 doctors will be invested in representation of the more than 551 graduates with the certificate of doctor of last year.
The act followed the academic traditional ceremonial, in which doctors members of the university community showed off their traditional academic clothing with the corresponding colours. The new doctors went one by one to receive from the Dean of the Universitat de València, M. Vicenta Mestre, the symbols of the doctorate degree: the white gloves, symbol of purity in the exercise of the academic activity; the laureate biretta with the corresponding colour of the scientific field they have obtained their doctorate degree.
According to this traditional ceremonial, the academic processions were formed by the new doctors, university professors, members of the Governing Council and of the Universitat de València and the university choir interpreted Veni Creatorand, at the end of the act, Gaudeamus Igitur, piece with which the ceremony was closed.
The event was presided over by the Principal of the Universitat de València, M. Vicenta Mestre, the General Secretary, M. Elena Olmos, the Vice-principal for Studies, Isabel Vázquez, the Vice-principal for Research, Carlos Hermenegildo, and the Regional Secretary for Universities, M. Esther Gómez.
