A silver medal for the team, and the gold and the bronze medals in women’s classification. This was the total count of medals that the trail running team of the Universitat de València won in the Autonomic Championship of the University Sports (CADU).

The CADU was organised by the Universitat de València and this edition, unlike others before, was aimed only at the university athlete, as the intention is to "give students the opportunity to make their efforts much more visible", said Miguel Angel Torregrosa, a technician from the Physical Education and Sports Service of the Universitat de València. "Being integrated into other races does not reflect the link between the university student and the race," he added.

The test had an increase in participation in comparison with past years. As for the characteristics of the route, a circular route was designed, suitable for all types of participants, marked by the combination of forest tracks through the rural and natural environment.

Classification

By universities, the gold went for the Universitat Politècnica de València, the silver for the Universitat de València and the bronze for the Miguel Hernández University of Elche.

In women’s classification, the UV student Vanessa Romero was in the first place, Laura Domene from the UPV was in second place, and a runner member of the UV team, Anna Jensen, was in third place.

In men’s classification, Jordi Carratala from the Universidad Católica de Valencia San Vicente Mártir, was champion of the race and in the second and third place were runners from the UPV, Pablo Sanchis and David Morcillo respectively.

The City Council of Yatova, as well as the Mountain hiking group of Yatova ATAVA and the motocross club were involved in the competition, and worked closely with the organisation for the design of the itinerary. Torregrosa concludes: “The City Council of Yatova fully supported the organisation in order to carry out the race”.
