A total of 158 teams, made up of 655 students and 142 teachers, will take part in the MOTIVEM 2022 Team Ideas competition. The different teams, which are interdisciplinary in nature, will come up with joint ideas to solve a need. Five ideas will be awarded, one for each branch of knowledge: Arts and Humanities, Health Sciences, Sciences, Social and Legal Sciences, and Engineering.

Creativity, coherence, resolution of social needs, interdisciplinarity and presentation will be some of the issues to be assessed by the Jury for the selection of the 20 finalist teams, from which the five winning ideas will be chosen. In total, 16,000 euros in prizes will be awarded; 1,400 euros for each of the five winning ideas and 600 euros for the 15 second place prizes.

This training action allows students at the Universitat de València to put into practice a series of skills with the aim of improving their future employability. Initiative, creativity and communication, among others, help them to generate, develop and present ideas in a team, with the coordination of the teaching staff.

The deadline for the development of the different ideas will be extended until 29th April. In order to improve the functioning of the team and the development of the idea, MOTIVEM provides free and voluntary training for the admitted teams' students. Specifically, 10 hours of online training, organised in 5 sessions of 2 hours each and with the possibility of choosing morning or afternoon schedule. Among other aspects, issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals, effective communication, teamwork, emotion management, intellectual property and data protection will be addressed.

What is MOTIVEM?

MOTIVEM is a training initiative implemented by the Vice-principal for Employment and Training Programmes of the Universitat de València, through the University-Business Foundation ADEIT, with the aim of supporting the efforts of university teachers who stimulate the students’ creativity by coordinating the development of team ideas that enhance their employability. The participation of teachers and students is free of charge as it is financially supported by the Valencian government and CaixaBank, through the 'la Caixa' Foundation.
