Ernesto Casero, Anaisa Franco, Cristian Gil, Laura Palau and Ainhoa Salas are the artists chosen for the 10th Public Art/Public University exhibition of the Universitat de València out of the 56 candidatures. The exhibition will be open at the Burjassot-Paterna Campus on 2 October and it can be visited until Friday 27.
The 20th edition of the exhibition will be commissioned by Alba Braza together with Salomé Cuesta, director of the department of Sculpture of the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia; the plastic artist Carlos Domingo, from the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture of the Universitat de València; Charo Álvarez, director of Sedi; and Jordi Caparrós, students’ representative of the Universitat de València. They are the people in charge of the selection of the artworks, endowed with 2,000 euros each one.
The Information Service and Student's Promotion (Sedi), with the collaboration of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Equality of the Universitat de València, organise this activity that was created in the academic year 1997/1998 and it has been commissioned since then until the 18th edition by the current director of the consortium of museums, José Luis Pérez Pont.
This year, the 20th edition of this exhibition is held and has some fresh news such as promoting the consideration of the art-science duality, and according to the terms and conditions of the call, the artworks must demonstrate one of the several possibilities that this duality offers.
