The 2ndGet Excited about Data (orig.Emociónate con los datos) Conference was an opportunity to discover gender equality and diversity through data design and analysis.

This activity has provided a space to reflect and debate on gender equality and diversity in university education and in the field of science. It has been carried out with a cross-disciplinary vision, integrating a gender perspective in teaching, research and training in equality and diversity.

The meeting was held in the GraduateHall of the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy of the Universitat de València, organised by Dolores Frías-Navarro from the REME Research Group of the UV. Principal of the Universitat de València M.ª Vicenta Mestre, Dean Faculty Antonio Ferrer, and Dr Dolores Frías-Navarro attended the opening ceremony.

The main objective was to disseminate how people involved in science develop their work. Experts from different fields, such as psychology, education and art history, among others, participated in the meeting. Participants presented their works in short videos, addressing the challenges faced and providing evidence-based answers.

The workshop, sponsored by the Equality Unit of the UV, focused on gender and diversity perspectives in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and was addressed at teaching staff, students, and the general public.

The event has been a great opportunity to take a closer look at the importance of equality and diversity in science.
