30 of the successful applicants are high-performance athletes, 58 have been selected for the Spanish teams of their sport modality in the last two years; 121 are elite athletes of the Valencian Community; and 89 obtained good results in Federative or University  Spanish Championships in 2018.

The general goal is to support these athletes enrolled in the Universitat de València in the scholar year 2018-2019, so that they can combine the university studies with the exigences implying any high-athletic practice, based on trainings, concentrations, contests, championships and some other essential activities to obtain good national and international results.

Thus, the programme has 20 academic tutors from the 20 centres of the Universitat de València in which they are enrolled; apart from a coordinator, the technician of the Physical Education and Sports Service of the Universitat de València, Amparo Dols Nácher, who was an Olympic medallist in Seül 88.

Every participant of the programme enjoys academic and athletic support, so that they have academic assistance and the possibility of enjoying for free the Bureau of Athletes Assistance (with doctor, trainer, physical therapist, psychologist and sports facilities of the Physical Education and Sports Service).  Moreover, they can obtain 1.5 ETCS.

The Programme has 22 seats for free enrolment and 125 seats for 400 euro of economic support, which have been obtained by the students having a higher assessment due to their athletic results and due to their academic record in the previous year. 

This programme has been working since 1999.
