The Prometheus 2019-056 project, “Smartphone and Green Analytical Chemistry”, organises a conference on chemistry and archaeology this Monday, December 19 as the closing ceremony. The act, with 18 tables in which different specialists will participate, will take place at the Manuel Ardit Lucas Graduate Room of the Faculty of Geography and History of the University of Valencia, between 9 am and 6 pm.

The main proposal of the project is based on the development of basic studies of green analytical chemistry and the treatment of colour data from photographic images obtained with a smartphone as an analytical tool. In addition, all this applies to the direct analysis of samples, the detection of contaminants and the identification of origin and determination of the state of conservation of archaeological materials and elements that belong to the cultural heritage.

The event is organised by María Luisa Cervera, full professor of Analytical Chemistry and main researcher of the Prometheus 2019-056 project; Gianni Gallello, researcher in the Department of Prehistory, Archaeology and Ancient History; Adela Mauri, dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry; Agustín Pastor, full professor of Analytical Chemistry; Ángel Morales, full professor of Analytical Chemistry and M. José Luque, researcher at the Department of Optics and Optometry and Vision Sciences.
