The Universitat de València, through its University–Business Foundation (ADEIT), launches a new edition of the System for Evaluation and Recognition of Internships (SEATPE) by which the task of 100 academic and internships tutors will be recognised with a formative course and internship tutorial workshops.

The main aim of the programme is to improve the quality of the academic or business internships and to recognise the good tutorial task.

The call is opened until today Monday 25 April (http://seat.adeituv.es/) for the group of 7.000 teachers that tutor the internships of the Universitat de València and professionals of business, that have been tutoring internship students during this 2015/16 academic year.

People that get into the programme will take part of a blended course of ‘Docencia y gestión de la tutoría de prácticas externas’ (‘Teaching and management of internship tutoring’): 10 hours of online formation and 10 on-site hours; and a 30 hours distance workshop of elaborating a tutorial internship project, recognised by the Lifelong Learning Service and Educational Innovation (SFPIE) of the Universitat.

At the same time, the 110 tutors that were accredited and awarded with the quality certification at its first edition can also register for the renovation of these recognitions.

Presentation of the programme at the Office of the Principal of the Universitat de València

The new SEATPE edition has been presented by the vice-principal for Undergraduate Studies and Language Policy of the Universitat de València, Isabel Vázquez, to the coordinators of the internships at the faculties of the Universitat. The vice-principal has highlighted the importance of this programme, that was created to improve the practical training of the students of the Universitat de València and, for that, tutors are a ‘key piece’, as Isabel Vázquez pointed out.

During the presentation, the vice-principal for Training Policies and Educational Quality, Ramón López, highlighted the need of forming the teaching and researcher staff of the Universitat de València and affirmed that is through these programmes that ‘the quality of the teaching service improves and the quality seal is achieved’. The presentation of SEATPE also had the presence of the vice-principal for Postgraduate Studies, Rafael Crespo, and the director of the Internship Department of ADEIT, Miguel Ángel Barberá, who gave details of the programme.
