The students of last year of the Degree in Pedagogy did all the projects in the module ‘Historia de la educación de las mujeres’, supervised by Carmen Agulló. The initiative shows how women were educated in the Franco dictatorship including both, school setting and informal and formal education.

In the exhibition, canvas designed by Pau Lagunas can be seen, as well as four glass cabinets with different objects offered by students. In this project have participated the vide-dean of Quality and Innovation and the Equality Commission of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences, as well as the Department of Comparative Education and Education History.

The exhibition gives a critic and no endocentric perspective of women’s education troubled by national Catholicism and patriarchal system. Far from nostalgic interpretations, materials and elements displayed encourage to reflect and to give a critical analysis of a phase that lasted more than 40 years. During this phase, society, because of social and economic changes, progressed in the educational field, although without losing discriminatory aspects towards women, which characterised the Francoism.

It will finalise on Wednesday 21.
