Principal Peset Hall of Residence of the Universitat de València hosts the photographic exhibition ‘En clave femenina. Mujeres en el escenario’ by Liberto Peiró. The exhibition will be hold in the Muralla Hall from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11:00 to 19:30, until the 10 June. Moreover, there will be extra activities which will take place during May and June such as round tables, talks and two Synth-pop.

To have a look into the photographic archive which Liberto Peiró has made during 30 years is to start a travel through more than 5,000 concerts which would be able to put together the history of the popular, local, national, international music through his photographs.

Eduardo Guillot, journalist and organizer of the exhibition: ‘The photographs of Liberto Peiró sound. Each image got by his camera at a concert is a fierce shout or a murmur. Each expression immortalised through the lens explain as much of the artist as his discs. They are photographs which can be listened to’.

The hundreds of images which form this exhibition have been selected by Liberto Peiró and Eduardo Guillot. Their aim is to make visible the role of the woman at music. The photographs of Liberto Peiró show women with character, attitude, sensitivity and personality. Women without fear of showing their emotions in a world in which they have been traditionally undervalued compared with their male colleagues, women who speak loud and clear.

Liberto Peiró is a concert photographer since the late 1980s. His works have appeared in magazines such as On The Rocks, Rolling Stone, Heavy Rock, Enderrock, Rockdelux. He is expert in festivals and has been the official photographer of the Low, FIB, Medusa Sunbeach and Wam, among others. Nowadays, he manages the Valencian edition of the monthly magazine Mondo Sonoro.

There are also extra activities to the exhibition. On the one hand, there will be two dialogue spaces which will be entitled ‘Hacer visible aquello invisible: Mujeres en el mundo de la música’, (‘Making visible the invisible: Women in the music field’) on 11 May with the participation of Neus Aulló, Diana Aller and Soledad Vélez. And the second conference will take place on 1 June with the attendance of Marta Margalef, Marga Landete and Monty Peiró. Moreover, there will be two showcases: on 25 May Cabiria, who will make his debut in Valencia, and on 8 June, Caliza will act to close the extra activities.
