The full university professors of the Universitat de València, Antonio Ariño and Joan Romero, have received the Critica Literaria Valencia Prize 2017 in the modality of Assay and Critic. The award ceremony of the 36th edition of the Critica Literaria Valenciana was held last Saturday, 20 May, at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche.

The jury of Assay and Critic, composed by Joan Carles Martí as the president, José Miguel Segura as the secretary, and Miguel Catalán, Ana Noguera, Francisco Agramunt and José Ferrándiz as the chairpersons, has agreed by a majority to award the Critica Literaria Valenciana Prize 2017 in this modality to the work titled ‘La secesión de los ricos’, by Antonio Ariño and Joan Romero, published by the Galaxia Gutemberg publisher in 2016.

The jury has considered that this work deserves the prize for its considerations about a central topic in our era, which is the increasing economic disparity and its global consequences, providing with interesting elements for a debate.
