The Music Club of the Universitat de València starts the autumn programming this Tuesday, 3rd October. It includes 13 concerts that will take place between October and December in different spaces of the UV: the Cultural Centre La Nau, the Botanical Garden and the Rector Peset Hall of Residence. Moreover, it includes the series ‘Paraules al Concert’, with a conference each month in Capella de la Sapiència.

The first concert will be at the Muralla Hall of the Rector Peset Hall of Residence (plaza Horno de San Nicolás 4, València), at 19:30, in collaboration with the Valencian Institute of Culture of the Valencian Government.

The Autumn Concerts are a series of chamber music concerts that aim at promoting the classical music both among the university audience and the Valencian society as a whole. The entry is free and the initiative tries to support the Valencian music with a largest presence of Valencian pieces and composers.

The autumn cycle includes collaborations with the General Foundation of the Universitat de València, the Equity Unit and the Valencian Institute for Culture of the Valencian Government.

‘Paraules al Concert’

This initiative is framed within the autumn programming and it will be developed during the series ‘Música a la Capella’. ‘Paraules al Concert’ includes three conferences that aim to delve into the knowledge on Valencian composers, as Pere Rabasa and Vicente Ripollés, or universal ones, as Johann Sebastian Bach. It will help to better known their work and the context in which it was developed.

The first conference, on Wednesday 11th October, will be given by Helena Rausell, who will speak about the musical education and equity; The second one will be on Wednesday 8th November and will be given by Rosa Isusi, who will speak about ‘Research in musical heritage and knowledge transfer regarding the ephemeris of Pere Rabasa and Vicente Ripollés’; and the last one, ‘Closeness to the Johann Sebastian Bach figure and work’, will be given by Rafael Fernández on Wednesday 13th December.
