Member of a Valencian medical dynasty, Joan Baptista Peset Aleixandre stood out because of his solid training in several areas of knowledge, as well as for his social commitment. This biographic video goes through his academic career and his incorporation to politics, holding the position of provincial president of Izquierda Republicana (Republican Left), the political party founded by Manuel Azaña.

After the Spanish Civeil War, and despite having had three opportunities of going into exile, he stayed in Valencia until he tried to leave from Alicante’s harbour, where he was arrested along with his children and Ricardo Muñoz Suay.

This video biography includes the statements of Peset Aleixandre’s child at the Paraninfo (Main Hall) at the Universitat de València in 2001, in which he explains the route across the concentration camps, where they were prisoners until the former principal was moved to the ‘Cárcel Modelo de Valencia’ prison.

Moreover, the video presents the complaint documents presented by the Delegación Provincial de Sanidad de Falange Española, with the support of twelve signatures, including the UV profesor Francisco Marco Merenciano’s one.
