CADU week for karate, goalball, climbing and archery

The Regional University Sports Championship (CADU) continues during this week for individual sports. The Universitat de València will compete on Saturday 25 the karate tournament, which will be attended by 24 athletes who will fight for the regional title in all categories. After winning the gold in 2016, this year they will try to “repeat” the victory, according to the coach, Arturo Olmedo. The karate CADU will start at 16:00 in the municipal sports centre of Cheste.

The next CADU will be dedicated to adapted sport. The Miguel Hernández University of Elche will host the regional goalball championship, the only Paralympic sport created specifically for blind or visually impaired people. The team of the Universitat de València, coached by the Paralympic athlete Mónica Merenciano, will face all the Valencian universities during the session on Wednesday 29 March.

On Thursday 30 the climbing and archery CADU will take place. Monica Sánchez’s team will attend with six male and five female climbers who will compete in the Universitat Politècnica de València throughout this session. “This year we have an exceptional team of climbers who have trained full blast with the goal set for next 30 March: we aim at CADU’s gold”, said the coach.
