The Silk Route is one of the most significant achievements in the history of civilizations, an itinerary through which not only the commercial caravans circulated, but also the culture of the nations.

The reproduction of this musical journey through the Silk Route will gather at the scene musicians from Iran, China, India and Maghreb, among other nationalities in accordance with the melting pot of cultures that represented the legendary commercial and cultural journey which linked the Far East with the West bank of Mediterranean.

More than 7000 kilometres of cultures, music, traditions, from the Chinese capital of Xian, the Far East until the Mediterranean and Valencia, the city of the Lonja de la seda (Silk Exchange). The music journey starts at the Silk country, Serindia, until the Far East, Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire. After starting at the Chinese city, the music will reproduce the melodies of India, Persia, Italy, taking the path from the West to the East made by Marco Polo. After crossing Africa, the last stop of the journey will be at the most western part of the Silk Route, Valencia and its Velluters art which includes the influence of the music diversity of Mare Nostrum.

Serenates has the support of the City Hall of Valencia (Councils of Cultural, Festivities and Youth), the Valencian Provincial Council, the Higher Institute of Artistic Teaching of the Valencian Community (ISEACV), The Valencian Academy of Language, the Bancaja Foundation, the Sabadell Bank Foundation and the French Institute of Valencia.
