The Universitat de València received on January 13th ‘Favourable report’ of the certification of the design of the Sistema d’Assegurament Intern de la Qualitat (SAIQ, Internal Quality Assurance System) for all the centres of our institution, which responds to the new requirements of the AUDEC matrix program of ANECA. This certification sets a great base for the Quality Unit work and a significant breakthrough in one of the main objectives set by the management team in the field of quality, which is institutional accreditation.

Design certification is the first step towards institutional accreditation in compliance with the Royal Decree 420/2015 of creation, recognition, authorisation and accreditation of universities and university centres. This is why holding a SAIQ with a design and implementation certified by an External Evaluation Agency is required.

The main objective of SAIQ is to generate sufficient trust in the institution, and in its ability to provide training that guarantees that the expectations of students and other stakeholders (such as employers and society in general) are fully met. For this design to be successful, useful and durable, it has been convenient to reduce the number of evidence and bureaucratisation avoiding the fatigue of those involved.
