Baggio will talk about the “global migrant and refugee pacts: challenges and opportunities”. The event will start at 11 a.m.

Carles Padilla, vice-principal for Internationalisation and Cooperation, and María Dolores Sancerní, dean of the Faculty of Psychology, will inaugurate the academic course of the Master’s degree in Migration. Thus, they will present the inaugural conference together with Edelia Villarroya, director of the master’s degree.

2018 UN Global Pacts in migrants and refugees give a chance to collaborate in the management of current migration in its different forms.

Both pacts are the result of an international debate and a complex process of consults and negotiations among countries. However, they offer some opportunities to move towards a shared and efficient governance of migrations in an increasingly interconnected. Some challenges merit a special consideration after looking into the final drafts and the scenario of the adoption of the pacts.
