The Cultural Centre La Nau of the Universitat de València will host on 18th September at 7 p.m. the debate “Secular State: an urgent challenge.”

The event will take place at the Matilde Salvador Room. It will bring together Luis Manglano, member of Juezas y Jueces para la democracia; Demetrio Orte, Redes Cristianas; Raquel Ortiz, coordinator of Valencia Laica and a member of the directive board of Europa Laica; and Eugenio Piñero, professor of Philosophy and Vice-coordinator of Valencia Laica. The event will be presented by the Vice-principal for Culture and Sport of the Universitat de València, Antonio Ariño.

This activity is organised by Valencia Laica, which is a partner of Europa Laica. It is a state foundation that was founded in 2001. It understands laicism as the establishment of the ideal legal, political and social conditions to fully develop the freedom of conscience, which is the base of Human Rights.  This association defends ideological pluralism as a key point of the rule of law and the establishment of an adequate and effective legal framework that guarantees it.
